ALDEGUER COULD JOIN VR46 AS GRESINI IS LINKED TO A HONDA SWITCH

Ducati rising star Fermín Aldeguer is reportedly close to joining VR46 Racing Team next season. The Italian squad has been a long-term admirer of the Spaniard and has moved quickly in the market to secure their man.

There have been several rumours that VR46 may look to clear house for 2027, with plans to move on from Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio.

This move, however, raises questions about the future relationship between Gresini Racing and Ducati. With Álex Márquez set for a move to rival marque KTM, and now Aldeguer potentially heading to VR46, could we see Gresini switch manufacturers for MotoGP’s new regulations?

Honda is reportedly interested in fielding six bikes for 2027, Motorsportsclicks understands. Gresini previously used Honda machinery between 2002 and 2014, enjoying a fruitful partnership. The team won the 250cc World Championship in 2001 with the late Daijiro Kato.

This surprise move for Aldeguer raises more questions than answers and adds another twist to what has already been a chaotic MotoGP “silly season.”
