DA COSTA WINS FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE TIME IN FORMULA-E

The Madrid E-Prix delivered a dramatic and strategic race, with António Félix da Costa taking his second win in a row in the Formula E season.

Pole-sitter Nick Cassidy made a great start and kept the lead into the first corners. Behind him, António Félix da Costa quickly moved up, while Nyck de Vries and Pascal Wehrlein fought hard for position.

Wehrlein, the championship leader, impressed early by climbing from sixth on the grid to second place in just a few laps.

Early Drama and Penalties

There was contact in the opening laps when De Vries hit Wehrlein from behind, damaging his front wing. De Vries later received a 5-second time penalty for causing the collision.

Other problems followed: Zane Maloney had to serve a drive-through penalty for a technical infringment, Oliver Rowland also got a drive-through for overpower at the start

Meanwhile, Dan Ticktum showed strong pace and overtook Wehrlein for second place.

The race featured both Pit Boost and Attack Mode, making strategy very important.

Felipe Drugovich surprised many by activating Attack Mode early, before the pit window opened. This was unusual, as most drivers waited until after their pit stop.

When the Pit Boost window opened, several top drivers, including Da Costa and Wehrlein, made their stops. After all pit stops and Attack Modes were completed, Da Costa emerged as the effective race leader.

Taylor Barnard got a total of 15 second time penalty after pushing off track both Muller and Vergne.

Late Battle for the Win

In the final laps, the fight for victory became intense. Ticktum had more energy and began attacking Da Costa, while Mitch Evans also joined the battle.

With just one lap to go, three drivers were fighting for the win.

Da Costa Takes Victory

In the end, Da Costa held his position and crossed the line first, securing back-to-back victories.

It was also a great result for his team, as they finished with another 1–2, confirming their strong performance.
