FERRARI, HONDA AND AUDI TO ACCESS “ADUO” AFTER MONACO

Ferrari, Audi and Honda are expected to gain access to the “ADUO” system after the Monaco Grand Prix, according to reports from Motorsport.com.

The ADUO system, which stands for Additional Development and Updates Opportunities, was created to help engine manufacturers that are clearly behind their rivals in performance. The idea is to give these manufacturers extra chances to improve their power units during the season.

With this system, manufacturers that are struggling with engine performance can receive more flexibility to introduce updates and development changes. This is meant to help close the gap between competitors and maintain a more balanced level of competition in Formula 1.

At the moment, Ferrari, Audi and Honda are expected to benefit from this system after the Monaco Grand Prix. However, there are still questions about whether Red Bull Powertrains will also receive access.

Some reports suggest that Red Bull’s engines may be stronger than initially expected. Because of this, it is still unclear if they will qualify for the extra development opportunities offered by the ADUO system.

More details are likely to become clear after the Monaco Grand Prix, when Formula 1 and the FIA will have confirmation of the performance of the different engine manufacturers.
