LEWIS HAMILTON CLAIMS 2026 IS GOING TO BE “IT’S GOING TO BE ONE HELL OF A SEASON”
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton says he feels “re-set and refreshed” as he looks ahead to the 2026 Formula 1 season with Ferrari.
After a difficult 2025 campaign filled with struggles, Hamilton explained that he has left the frustration behind him. He admitted that at one point he “forgot who I was,” but now feels fully focused again. The British driver made it clear that he is motivated, committed, and ready for the fight ahead:
“I’m re-set and refreshed. I’m not going anywhere, so stick with me. For a moment, I forgot who I was, but thanks to you and your support you’re not going to see that mindset again. I know what needs to be done.
I love this job so much and I love working with my team and driving for the fans. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do, and I’m excited for the season ahead.”
Encouraged by the new SF-26
Speaking during media day in Bahrain, Hamilton shared his early thoughts about Ferrari’s new car, the SF-26. He described the initial performance as exciting and said working with the next generation of cars brings a completely different challenge:
“The car’s performance so far is truly exciting me. Working with next-generation cars is a very different experience; we’re trying to solve everything from scratch and in real time.
Unlike last season, when he had to adapt to a car built on foundations set by others, this year’s machine is one he has personally helped develop. Hamilton revealed that he spent the last eight to ten months working on the simulator to shape the car’s direction.
Because of that involvement, he feels a stronger connection to the SF-26. According to him, the car carries some of his “DNA,” making the project feel more personal than before.
Looking ahead
Hamilton believes he knows what needs to be done. With renewed focus and a car he helped create, he enters 2026 with confidence and determination.
The big question now is whether this fresh start will allow him to fight at the front again and deliver something special for Ferrari and his fans in the upcoming season.
