MARTIN WINS HECTIC SPRINT RACE AT AUSTIN

The MotoGP Sprint race at the Grand Prix of the Americas delivered one of the most exciting short races in history, won by Jorge Martin, full of action from the very first lap to the final corner.

Starting from pole position, Fabio Di Giannantonio looked ready to fight at the front, but the race quickly turned chaotic. Pedro Acosta made a brilliant start and briefly took the lead, while the Ducati riders surged forward, with Francesco Bagnaia moving into first place and Marc Márquez gaining several positions.

However, the race took a dramatic turn when Márquez collided with Di Giannantonio, sending both riders out of the race. The incident changed everything at the front and opened the fight for victory to several other contenders.

Joan Mir moved into the top positions, while Jorge Martín began an incredible charge through the field. Martín showed great pace and quickly passed both Mir and Acosta in the same lap to move into second place, showing he had the speed to challenge for the win.

Behind them, Marco Bezzecchi also recovered strongly after a poor start, climbing up to third and then overtaking Martín for second. But just as he looked like a serious contender, Bezzecchi crashed while chasing the leader, making a mistake at Turn 11 and ending his race.

The race also saw retirements for Diogo Moreira and Toprak Razgatlioglu due to technical problems.

In the final laps, the focus shifted to the battle between Bagnaia and Martín. The Spanish rider was clearly faster and closed the gap quickly, putting pressure on the Ducati rider. Martin was the only one who risked to use the medium tyre at the rear, opposite to Bagnaia, and had much more pace at the end.

On the last lap, Martín made a decisive move and overtook Bagnaia to take the lead in a spectacular way.

Martín crossed the line to take a brilliant victory, his first sprint win since 2024, after an impressive comeback drive. The race ended with more drama as Joan Mir crashed while running in fourth place.

To add a final twist, Martín even crashed after the race during his celebrations, although he was unharmed. It was an unforgettable sprint race, may be considered one of the best in MotoGP history.
