MERCEDES UNVEILS NEW GT SERIES MODELS INCLUDING F1 SAFETY CAR
Mercedes-AMG has revealed the new generation of its GT3 race car, along with a new Black Series road car. The two models have been developed together, with the road version serving as the base required for racing rules and also set to be used as a Formula 1 Safety Car.
The new GT3 car is designed for customer racing teams and brings several important changes. It features a redesigned chassis, updated aerodynamics, and a newly developed V8 engine. These improvements aim to provide better performance, more reliability, and stronger consistency during long races.
According to the company, the new engine has been built to deliver a wider range of torque, making the car easier to drive in different conditions. It is also expected to last longer under heavy use, which is especially important in endurance racing.
This marks the first major update to the GT3 model since 2020. With this new version, Mercedes-AMG is looking to stay competitive in GT racing categories around the world.
Customer teams are expected to start receiving the new GT3 cars ahead of the 2027 racing season, giving them time to prepare and adapt before putting the car into full competition.
