YAMAHA TO SIGN AI OGURA TO THEIR FACTORY SQUAD IN 2027

Recent talk within the paddock suggests that the Japanese rider will sign a deal with the Japanese manufacturer.

Ogura, 25, has had a stellar start to his sophomore season with Trackhouse Aprilia, securing top-six finishes in every race he has finished in during 2026.

This bombshell move should secure the future of Raul Fernandez at Trackhouse, after team owner Justin Marks said the American team would prioritise retaining the Spaniard.

However, the loss of Ai Ogura may open a space at the team for Joan Mir, with Trackhouse team principal Davide Brivio being open to working with the Spaniard again, having won a title with him at Suzuki in 2020.

Furthermore, this move would confirm that Toprak Razgatlioglu will remain at Pramac Racing in 2027, with Pramac Moto2 rider Izan Guevara being touted for a MotoGP berth alongside him.

Yamaha Motor Company would then enter the new era of MotoGP with an extremely strong lineup of 2024 MotoGP champion Jorge Martín and 2024 Moto2 champion Ai Ogura, aiming to return to the top of the standings after several difficult seasons.
