PEDRO ACOSTA SET TO SIGN FOR DUCATI AND JOIN MARC MARQUEZ

The factory seat musical chairs continue in MotoGP as KTM star Pedro Acosta is set to join Ducati.

Acosta impressed immediately when stepping up to MotoGP with the GasGas team before being promoted to KTM’s Factory team in 2025. He immediately proved himself as the top rider in the Austrian stable and finished the season in fourth position, ahead of the man he may be replacing at Ducati, Francesco Bagnaia.

The big question around this move is, will Pedro be able to challenge Marc Marquez on the same bike?

First though, there is the 2026 season where Pedro Acosta will continue for one last year with KTM. Where he will aim to secure his maiden win in the class with the manufacturer who brought him there.

As for Pecco Bagnaia, the 2022 and 2023 champion should have a few options. If he wants to stay within Ducati, a move to satelite outfit VR46 could occur. However, the Italian has recently been rumoured to partner Marco Bezzecchi at Aprilia, replacing the out going Jorge Martin. The 2027 MotoGP grid is beginning to take shape and major changes will still occur before it is over.
