JACK DOOHAN REVEALS DEATH THREATS DURING 2025 FORMULA 1 SEASON
In a shocking revelation, Jack Doohan has opened up about the frightening abuse he faced during his time at Alpine, especially when rumors began circulating that he would be replaced by Franco Colapinto before the middle of the 2025 season.
Speaking to Racingnews365, Doohan explained that the situation went far beyond criticism on social media. It became dangerous.
“I received serious death threats. They would kill me if I was still driving. I received some emails saying that they would chop my limbs off if I was in the car still in Miami.”
The young Australian driver said the threats were so severe that he needed heavy security at one point.
“I can’t even tell half of the things that happen, but at one point I had to be surrounded by three armed men to protect myself, I had to be escorted by the police too!”
Doohan’s final race for Alpine took place in Miami. After that weekend, the team replaced him with Franco Colapinto.
The incident highlights the darker side of modern motorsport, where drivers can become targets of extreme online abuse when results or team decisions do not go as fans expect.
In the 2025 season, Jack Doohan raced for Alpine in the first six rounds, before being replaced by the Argentinian Franco Colapinto after the Miami Grand Prix.
The Australian had a 13th place finish as best result in his short period as a driver, and has transitioned to reserve inside the team. After testing in Superformula for a full-time seat in 2026, he lost his contract due to unknown reasons, and is now reserve at Haas.
