BEZZECCHI DOMINATES IN AUSTIN WITH FIFTH WIN IN A ROW
The race at Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin started with high expectations, but was won by Marco Bezzecchi, who finished first for the fifth time in a row on a Grand Prix.
Pedro Acosta, who was hoping to finally win his first race in the premier class. The young Spaniard, often called the “Shark,” began the race strongly and immediately fought at the front.
Fabio Di Giannantonio started from pole position but had another poor launch and quickly dropped down the order, falling to fifth place in the opening moments.
Acosta initially took the lead ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín, but the early laps were chaotic. A mistake by Acosta at the hairpin of turn 11 allowed Bezzecchi to move into first place after a brief moment of contact between the two riders.
Behind them, Di Giannantonio began recovering positions, overtaking Marc Márquez, who was struggling while also needing to serve a long lap penalty. Francesco Bagnaia also had a difficult start and dropped to sixth.
The race quickly produced more drama. Johann Zarco crashed out early, while Márquez served his long lap penalty and fell from sixth to eleventh place. Di Giannantonio showed impressive pace and set the fastest laps of the race, trying to climb back toward the podium positions.
Later, Joan Mir received a long lap penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage, but his race ended shortly after with a crash.
As the race reached the halfway point, Bezzecchi remained in control at the front despite losing both rear winglets on his bike due to the contact with Acosta.
Meanwhile, Ai Ogura delivered one of the most impressive performances of the race for the TrackHouse Racing MotoGP Team. The Japanese rookie was flying through the field, setting the fastest lap and overtaking Bagnaia for fifth place. Soon after, he caught Di Giannantonio and made a spectacular move to take fourth, putting himself in position to fight for his first MotoGP podium.
Unfortunately for Ogura, his dream ended suddenly. While running strongly near the front, his bike suffered a gearbox failure, forcing him to retire from the race and ending what had been an outstanding ride. At the same time, Martín managed to overtake Acosta for second place after another small mistake from the young Spaniard.
In the final laps, attention turned to a fierce battle behind the leaders. Bagnaia, Márquez and Enea Bastianini fought intensely for fifth place. Bagnaia eventually lost positions to both rivals, dropping to seventh as Bastianini chased Márquez ahead.
At the front, however, there was no stopping Bezzecchi. The Italian rider controlled the race from start to finish and crossed the line to take victory once again in Austin. It was his fifth win in a row, an extraordinary run of form that also returned him to the lead of the championship.

With this result, Bezzecchi achieved another remarkable milestone. He became the first rider in the modern MotoGP era to win five consecutive races while leading every lap. He also set a new all-time record for the most consecutive laps led in history, reaching 121 and surpassing the previous record of 103 set by Jorge Lorenzo in 2015.
