ANOTHER BRAZILIAN ON THE RISE: WHO IS PEDRO EBRAHIM

Brazil has a long tradition in motorsport, and a new name started to attract attention in endurance racing: Pedro Ebrahim.

The sportscar driver first caught wider attention during the Brazilian round of the World Endurance Championship at Interlagos in 2025. In that race he shared a car with fellow Brazilian Augusto Farfus, one of the most respected names in endurance racing.

Although their car finished the race in 12th position, Ebrahim’s performance impressed many people. Throughout the race he often matched the lap times of his experienced teammates and showed strong pace.

At times he was even faster than nine-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi, who was driving the sister car, the famous number 46.

That race sparked curiosity about the young Brazilian driver. Before appearing in the world championship, Ebrahim had already built a strong record in GT racing.

In 2024 he won the Italian GT3 Championship driving a BMW GT3 run by Ceccato Racing, sharing the car with Federico Malvestiti.

Ebrahim has also shown versatility by racing in different categories. Alongside his GT3 programs, he has often competed in GT4 machinery. One notable result came when his car won the second round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) in the SP3T category, in the same event where Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen took part.

In 2025, Ebrahim also competed in the GT4 European Championship with Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport. Sharing the car with Turkish driver Yagiz Gedik, the pair showed consistent speed during the season. They finished ninth in the overall standings and secured two podium finishes.

In 2026, Ebrahim competed in the 24 Hours of Dubai driving a BMW GT3, teaming up with Augusto Farfus and other drivers. The team had a strong performance, leading their class for much of the race and even running as high as third overall.

Unfortunately, a tyre puncture in the middle of the race hurt their chances, and a Full Course Yellow with 45 minutes to go disrupted their strategy. As a result, they lost a podium at the very end to go and brought home a fourth place finish.

Despite his speed and strong results, Ebrahim faces a challenge that many young drivers know well: budget. He revealed to Motorsportsclicks that funding has been a major obstacle in his career.

In some races he has even competed without personal financial backing, something that makes it difficult for him to build consistent programs and continue developing at the pace he would like.

For the 2026 season, Ebrahim tried to secure a seat in the IMSA SportsCar Championship in the GT3 class. He even traveled to the United States to hold negotiation talks with teams, but unfortunately those discussions did not result in a deal.

Even during this difficult period, Ebrahim has remained connected to the racing world. He has strong ties with Motorsport Performance Academy, a driver management and development program founded by Augusto Farfus and Mauricio Slaviero.

Through this program he also works part-time as a driver coach, helping younger drivers improve while staying active in motorsport as he searches for his next opportunity.

However, there is a surprise in the story. Altough Pedro is facing financial difficulties, the driver will also compete in the Italian GT3 Championship with Nova Racing, a BMW team. He previously won the Pro-Am title in the series in 2024 and will now move up to the Pro category with the team.

Amid many common challenges faced by Brazilian drivers, Pedro Ebrahim is steadily working his way toward a seat in a bigger, more prestigious series, such as the WEC, where he made his debut in 2025.
