AKSHAY BOHRA SEALS A DELIGHTFUL WEEKEND FOR R-ACE GP IN FRECA
Akshay Bohra delivered a flawless flag-to-flag drive to claim his first-ever victory in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Imola, capping off a dominant weekend for R-ace GP. The Singaporean driver started from pole and controlled Race 2 with composure, fending off early pressure to take a well-earned win.
The triumph came just 24 hours after his teammate Enzo Deligny won Race 1 from pole, making it a perfect weekend for the French outfit.
Few teams enjoy a weekend as commanding as R-ace GP’s at Imola. On Saturday, Enzo Deligny converted pole into victory with a mature, measured drive in Race 1, resisting challenges from a tightly packed field. That win marked a statement of intent from the young French driver, who continues to build momentum in the championship.
Sunday saw Akshay Bohra step into the spotlight. After claiming pole in Group B qualifying, Bohra took the start from the front row and never looked back. His pace was consistent and precise, holding position under pressure and gradually extending a lead as the laps ticked down.
Initially finishing second on the road was Freddie Slater, who had kept Bohra within striking distance throughout the race. The Prema Racing driver had been in strong form all weekend, finishing on the podium in Race 1 as well.
However, the post-race narrative took a dramatic turn when Slater was disqualified from Race 2 due to a technical infringement discovered during scrutineering, promoting the rest of the field up a position.

The disqualification not only nullified Slater’s result but also impacted his championship advantage.
R-ace GP’s double victory at Imola significantly strengthens its position in both the teams’ and drivers’ standings. Deligny’s consistent performances and Bohra’s breakthrough win underline the depth of talent in the squad, while Slater’s DSQ serves as a costly setback for one of the season’s frontrunners.
With four rounds still to run, the championship battle remains wide open. But Imola may be remembered as the weekend when R-ace GP seized the initiative.
Two races, two pole-to-flag victories, and a first-time winner – Imola delivered a thrilling chapter in the 2025 FRECA season. For R-ace GP, it was a weekend of triumph and validation. The next round of the championship promises more fireworks as the title fight intensifies — but for now, Imola belongs to the French team.
