DAYTONA 24H 2026: INTRODUCTION AND ENTRY LIST
The serious action for the 24 Hours of Daytona start today, on Thursday January 22nd with Qualifying at 19:10 British Time. The 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona will feature a full grid exceeding 60 cars across IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s four classes.
It features a packed grid of 60 cars, continuing Daytona’s tradition of full fields. IMSA maintains its familiar four-class format—GTP (Grand Touring Prototype), LMP2, GTD Pro, and GTD—with each class competing separately for class wins amid the overall 24-hour battle.
GTP features 11 hybrid prototypes from major manufacturers including Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Lamborghini and Porsche, headlining the fight for the overall win. LMP2 brings 12 Oreca-based customer prototypes, giving pro-am lineups and private teams a realistic shot at an overall top-10. GTD Pro is capped at 15 all‑pro GT3 entries, while GTD adds more than 20 pro‑am GT3 cars, together forming well over half the grid.
Team Tõnis, led by former Champ Car World Series driver and IMSA Prototype Challenge champion Tõnis Kasemets, has officially withdrawn its #61 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2 entry from the Daytona field. This pulls one car from the LMP2 class, slightly trimming the provisional grid but keeping the overall entry near its full capacity of around 60 cars. The move reflects ongoing adjustments as teams finalize commitments ahead of the Roar Before the 24 test weekend.
Race starts at on Saturday evening at 18:40 on the IMSA Youtube channel.
