ENZO DELIGNY WINS FROM POLE IN FRECA RACE 1
Enzo Deligny has dominated FRECA race 1 after starting from pole with a magical lap, qualifying ahead of the championship leader Freddie Slater.
Pedro Clerot, Enzo’s direct rival at the moment, is fighting for the 3rd place on the standings at the moment and qualified P4 in front of runner-up Matteo de Palo, making Deligny’s life easier on the championship battle.

However, the Brazilian had an excellent start immediately getting Slater and Bohra’s position, going up to P2 behind Deligny. The Safety car quickly came out due to a heavy crash from Hiyu Yamakoshi, who would later bring the red flag into the game due to damaged barriers. The Japanese got out of the car safely with no pain at all.
Clerot was then settled to attack Enzo at the restart. A rolling start gave the Brazilian the opportunity to do so, but Deligny quickly opened up a big gap behind. The championship leader Freddie Slater tried to set the pace exchanging fastest laps with Enzo, and was slowly getting closer to Clerot’s tow to get P2 back.
A few mistakes and lock-ups from the Van Amersfoort driver killed his tires and his pace was decreasing lap after lap, giving the opportunity to Freddie Slater to get back the 2nd position with 5 minutes to the end.

Due to trying to defend the position, Pedro Clerot was quickly caught up by Akshay Bohra in P4, and the Indian got P3 at the Piratella corner, 20 seconds before a Safety car came out due to al Dhaheri’s crash at Tamburello.
The Safety car went back into the pits and two laps were remaining for Freddie Slater to try the move for the win. There was nothing stopping Deligny today though, and he won his second race of the season.
The drivers get back on track for qualy 2 tomorrow 10:00 AM CET time, with the race kicking off at 13:50, the final push before the summer break.
