FERRARI BRINGS MACARENA WING TO SHANGHAI RATHER THAN MONTREAL
Ferrari is preparing an aggressive technical move for the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix. According to a report from AutoRacer.it, the team has decided to bring three examples of its new “Macarena” version 1.0 rear wing to the race in Shanghai.
This rear wing design was already tested during pre-season running in Bahrain and has received approval from the FIA, meaning Ferrari is free to use it in competition.
Even though the part is being introduced earlier than originally planned, Ferrari is still working on a further improved version. That upgraded design is expected to arrive later in the season, around the seventh race of the championship in Canada.
The decision to bring the new component to China suggests Ferrari wants to be more aggressive in its fight with Mercedes. By using this aerodynamic update so early in the season, the team appears confident in both the design and the overall potential of the SF-26.
Ferrari already showed promising speed during the season opener in Melbourne, where the car looked competitive and consistent throughout the weekend. Bringing the new rear wing could help them extract even more performance.
The big question now is whether this upgrade will be enough to challenge Mercedes and possibly secure Ferrari’s first victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The answer will come soon, as Formula 1 heads straight to Shanghai only one week after the Australian Grand Prix.
