FORMULA 3: CÂMARA HAS HIS FIRST MATCH POINT IN HUNGARY
Formula 3 arrives in Budapest for its penultimate round of the year, season that has seen a flawless Rafael Câmara lead the standings since the beginning.
Spa weekend bothered by the weather
The series leave Spa after an atypical weekend that was hit by severe rain. At first, both Free Practice and Qualifying got massively delayed due to heavy fog in the morning. Brad Benavides was able to take a surprising pole, placing himself ahead of championship leader Câmara, who got his lap deleted due to track limits initially, and was set to start both races from the back of the grid. The race direction then decided that they mistakenly removed his lap and decided to reinstate it, and the Ferrari junior ended Qualy in P2.

A spectacular Sprint Race from Câmara and the runner-up Tsolov of Red Bull, saw both of them climb the grid from the middle of the pack and finishing P5 and P4 respectively. The Feature race got unfortunately cancelled due to heavy rain.
Câmara could leave Budapest as a Formula 3 Champion
Rafael Câmara goes to Budapest with a 28-point lead over Tsolov, and 33 over Tramnitz 3rd. The Trident drivers’ raw speed has been exceptional so far, with four pole positions and three Feature race wins, but lacked pace and consistency in the Sprint races, scoring a total of 11 points out of the 126 he has.
Each Formula 3 weekend has 39 points available to grab. Two of them are for Pole in qualy, Sprint Race winner gets 10, and 25 for the Feature race winner. A point is given to the driver that sets the fastest lap of the race and finishes in the top 10, for both Sprint and Feature.
Therefore, the Ferrari junior needs to overscore Tsolov by 11 points and Tramnitz by 6 to go into the Summer Break as Formula 3 champion, making him the 2nd Brazilian driver to win the championship after Gabriel Bortoleto.
