FORMULA 3: ENZO DELIGNY SET TO LEAVE PREMA FOR VAR JUST DAYS BEFORE TESTING

With pre-season testing approaching, the grid was thought to be settled for several weeks, but further changes are still taking place.

The situation at PREMA had been known to be unstable for several weeks, with several key departures. The exit of the Rosin family and that of Guillaume Capietto, technical director since 2015, have only worsened the situation.

Long regarded as a benchmark in the junior series, the Italian team is currently going through a difficult period. These internal issues have naturally raised doubts about PREMA’s ability to approach the 2026 season in optimal conditions, seen the struggle of the past few years.

Enzo Deligny is now expected to join Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR). An official announcement is expected soon, just days before pre-season testing in Barcelona.

The Frenchman is expected to replace Mexican driver Jesse Carrasquedo, although the exact reasons for Carrasquedo’s departure from the series are currently unclear.

From PREMA to VAR: the best solution?

Enzo Deligny had initially been announced at PREMA for his Formula 3 debut, alongside James Wharton and Louis Sharp.

A trio that looked promising on paper, but whose shared future quickly became uncertain following the recent events within the team.

With doubts surrounding PREMA’s ability to contest the full season due to multiple departures and financial difficulties, Enzo Deligny is likely making his move at the right time.

In this context, the choice of Van Amersfoort Racing appears to be a more stable option for the French driver, as he is set to take the seat vacated by fellow Frenchman Théophile Nael, who left the team in 2025.

Enzo Deligny will therefore join Van Amersfoort Racing, a team that finished fifth in the championship in 2025. A solid, well-established squad on the grid, which could provide the French driver with an ideal and stable environment to approach his first full Formula 3 season and focus fully on performance.
