FOX SPORTS BUYS A THIRD OF PENSKE ENTERTAINMENT

Fox Sports has bought one third of Penske Entertainment, owner of Indycar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

At the beginning of 2025, Fox Sports has acquired the media rights of the NTT Indycar Series, being the mainstream channel for the open-wheel category in America. The statistics find that there has been a noticeable growth in the number of spectators, with the Indy500’s viewers increasing by 41%, whilst the series has had a 31% growth up until now. All the data is compared to last year’s statistics, source is Indycar.

Roger Penske is enthusiast to continue the partnership with the Media company, as he sees Fox Sports bringing much energy and innovation towards the future.

Indycar’s investment in media platforms has been exceptional over the last year, gaining over a milion followers in its social medias and creating the first ever app for the series. With Nascar’s attention slowly decreasing, mainly after the empty grandstands at the Brickyard 400, it is possible to say that Indycar is the the fastest growing championship in the United States.

“We’re thrilled to join the INDYCAR ownership group at such a pivotal time for the sport,” FOX Sports CEO & Executive Producer Eric Shanks stated.
