FRECA TITLE CONTENDER MATTEO DE PALO JOINS TRIDENT FOR THE 2026 FORMULA 3 SEASON
The news are out, and the Italian from Rome Matteo de Palo will step up to FIA Formula 3 in the 2026 season.
Matteo will graduate from the Formula Regional championship where he currently sits second tied to Freddie Slater who leads the championship. The 17-year-old will have his main rival in FRECA as team mate during the 2026 Formula 3 season.
De Palo currently has 4 wins and 4 further podiums in the Formula Regional championship in his second year in the series, which sees him tied to the British Freddie Slater with 226 points.
Matteo comes from a short background in the Spanish Formula 4 with Campos, where he won a race at Spa-Francorchamps and got 3 further podiums.
It is not known yet who will be the third driver for Trident, but according to our information, one driver between Noah Stromsted and Ugo Ugochukwu could fullfil the last seat at Trident.
