FRME – RACES 2 AND 3: HANNA AND ABKHAZAVA PREVAIL IN EVENTFUL RACES

Races 2 and 3 of the FRME delivered a morning full of twists and turns, marked by incidents, neutralisations and several impressive performances within the field. Two intense races that reshuffled the order throughout the morning.

Race 2: Hanna opportunistic, Powell caught out at the start
Race 2 got off to a difficult start for Alex Powell. The poleman lost the lead as the lights went out, dropped three positions and quickly found himself down in fourth place. Salim Hanna took advantage of the situation to seize the lead and set the pace.

After a period under the Safety Car, the race was disrupted once again by contact between Alex Powell and Yuki Sano on the main straight. The remainder of the race featured a few battles in the pack, without significantly altering the order at the front.

A strong performance from Andrea Dupe is also worth noting, as he charged through the field from 14th on the grid to finish seventh, scoring his first championship points.

Salim Hanna took the victory ahead of Alexis Ninovic in second, with Jan Przyrowski completing the podium.

Race 3: Abkhazava emerges from the chaos
Race 3 already looked unusual before the start, with poleman Alex Powell not taking part. From the opening metres, a battle between Alexander Abkhazava and Kean Nakamura-Berta set the tone for a hard-fought race at the front.

Very quickly, the race was marked by another major crash on the main straight following a move across, once again disrupting the event. Towards the end of the race, Alexis Ninovic was sent into a spin at the final corner.

At the end of a chaotic race, Alexander Abkhazava claimed victory. He finished ahead of Kean Nakamura-Berta in second, while Emanuele Olivieri stepped onto the third spot on the podium, securing an impressive first podium on his very first weekend in the category.
