GABRIEL GOMEZ SECURES RACE 1 WIN IN ITALIAN F4
After a dominant qualifying on late friday afternoon, Gabriel Gomez settled himself on pole for race 1 and race 2, while Williams Junior Oleksandr Bondarev sits first for race 3.
A brilliant start by the Brazilian allowed him to keep the lead going into turn 1 ahead of Salim Hanna who overtook the championship leader Kean Nakamura-Berta in the first metres. A Safety car immediately came out as both Viola Racing cars have crashed into each other at Rivazza.
Gomez slowed down as much as possible to keep the time running under safety car to secure the lead even more. He caught Salim Hanna off guard behind him and did an excellent. Meanwhile Reno Francot was able to attack Sebastian Wheldon to take P5, the Dutch is on a mission since his debut in Italian F4.

A Second Safety Car came out after a crash between Guy Albag and the Mexican Herrera of Jenzer Motorsport, which stayed almost until the end of the race since the Polish girl Olkucka crashed under Yellow flag regime.
Gabriel Gomez kept it under control and went on to win race 1 at Imola sealing his second victory of the season, reducing the gap to Kean Nakamura-Berta from 59 to 49 points, since the Japanese finished P3. The Brazilian is now on a serious fight for the title, after a not-so-good start of the season.
The Brazilian will start from pole in race 2, kicking off at 18:40 CET time, ahead of Bondarev and Nakamura-Berta.
