GABRIEL GOMEZ TAKES REVENGE TO WIN IN RACE 3 IN ITALIAN F4
Gabriel Gomez has won in race 3 after starting from pole position and not being able to take part in race 2, which he was set to start on pole as well.
The race started very well for the Brazilian as he kept the lead ahead of the PREMAs of Salim Hanna and Zhenrui Chi. In the meantime Andrea Dupe and Luka Sammalisto were jockeying for position on the track for the P4.
The Ferrari junior was immediately involved in a contact and ended up losing the hopes of taking his first points in the series, falling down to last in the pitlane. Andrija Kostic was spun round in turn 2 and fell down to last.
With 8 minutes to go, an exciting battle for the lead between Gomez, Hanna and Zhenrui Chi saw the Chinese lose a lot of pace and being overtaken by Luka Sammalisto a few minutes later.
The Finnish driver was indeed flying as he set the fastest lap sometimes throughout the race. This gave the opportunity to Gomez and Hanna to open up a gap from the drivers behind.
As soon as this battle finished, Kabir Anurag was spun round by Emanuele Olivieri, ending the race of the Alpine Junior.
Gomez and Hanna were alternating fastest laps between themselves, but the Brazilian held off to his South American fellow to win the race 3 starting from pole position.
Salim Hanna finished second ahead of Luka Sammalisto, while Oleksander Bondarev closed in 4th for the 2nd place in the rookie trophy. Andrea Dupe sealed the top 5.
