IRON DAMES SET TO NOT TAKE PART IN THE 2026 WEC SEASON
After facing financial issues, the Iron Dames will not be taking part in the 2026 World Endurance Championship, the team announced on social media.
This decision is related to the Iron Lynx continuing its program in the championship with Mercedes next year, and not enough funds were found to sustain both projects in 2026.
Iron Lynx and Iron Dames are owned through a shared parent company, the Swiss holding company DC Racing Solutions, which also owns PREMA, who has been lately struggling with its resources.
Financial issues or legal disputes within one outfit can affect the others because they share resources, and because the issues could stem from or create tension in their shared partnerships.
For instance, the division between Iron Lynx and Lamborghini, which involved Prema in a technical capacity, led to Lamborghini ending its program as well as Iron Dames, impacting the teams involved.Â
Therefore, due to these financial struggles, the Iron Dames program has been forced to stop in the WEC for the 2026 season to let the partnership between Mercedes and Iron Lynx continue.
