Italian F4 and FRECA: LAST PUSH BEFORE SUMMER BREAK
The Italian Formula 4 and the Formula Regional European championships start their weekend at Imola for the ACI Racing Weekend, the last one before summer break.
Both series have kicked off the weekend on a sunny Friday morning in Emilia-Romagna with Free Practice 1. Prema is debuting a new driver this weekend in Italian Formula 4, the French Andrea Dupe, replacing the Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis for the rest of the season.
The boy from Brazil sets the pace

The Brazilian Gabriel Gomez has led Free Practice 1 in F4. The Us Racing driver seems to be getting up to pace lately, as he is visiting the podium more oftenly. A great example is the first weekend of the Euro4 championship at Paul Ricard, where Gomez went on to take 2 out of the 3 pole positions, won race 1 and 3 and got a second place in race 2.
The Japanese Kean-Nakamura Berta is yet to find himself as a P10 finish in FP1 get his weekend under way. Reno Francot of PHM is another driver to keep an eye on, debuting at Mugello the Dutch proved to be on a duty, with 2 podium finishes in the weekend. Qualifying kicks off at 18:00 CET time.
Slater with no mileage in FRECA Practice 1
Although the championship leader topped the second collective test session on Thursday, his Friday starts with 0 laps in FP1. The PREMA driver comes to Imola with 3 wins in a row, and a perfect weekend at Le Castellet is leaving no chance for the opponents.
Unlucky moments at Misano and Spa-Francorchamps have avoided a complete domination from the British in the standings. Matteo de Palo of Trident is the closest rival so far, he took advantage of Slater’s unfortunate results and mistakes and is only 20 points behind the PREMA driver with 2 wins this season. If Slater is gonna extend his dominance in the championship, we are yet to know, but he certainly won’t give up any point.

R-ace GP driver Enzo Deligny led Free Practice 1 ahead of the former Formula 3 driver Nikita Bedrin. The French is on a close fight against Pedro Clerot for the 3rd place in the standings, and they can not count out the ART GP driver Evan Giltaire sitting 5th.
Rashid al Dhaheri finished 4th in Friday’s first session. The Emirati is another driver to keep an eye on, he is slowly finding confidence with the car, snatching a second place in Race 2 at Le Castellet. FRECA Qualifying for both race 1 and 2 will take place at 10:00 AM CET time on Saturday and Sunday respectively as usual.
