ITALIAN FORMULA 4 FINALE AT MISANO: THE WEEKEND PREVIEW
Italian Formula 4 has returned to where it started in 2025, at the Misano Adriatico racing track in the Riviera di Rimini.
The championship is back for its final action of the year after a three-week stop since the penultimate round in Barcelona, where the championship leader Kean Nakamura-Berta has extended his gap to runner-up Gabriel Gomez by 18 points.
The Japanese has won the first race, and came home second for the event number two of the weekend, whilst Gabriel Gomez has had an engine failure at the start of race 1, but won race 2.
While race 3 got cancelled due to massive rain at Barcelona, Nakamura-Berta has left Spain with 289 points in hand, 73 ahead of his Brazilian rival.
In this weekend we will see 5 races for the Italian series, since due to the high numbers of drivers registered for this event (44), drivers will be split into 3 groups (A, B, C) and the 36 best drivers will be taking part in the final heat on Sunday evening.
A fifth race has been added to recover the one cancelled at Imola, which saw Gabriel Gomez taking pole position ahead of his championship rival Kean Nakamura-Berta.
There will be new additions this weekend, such as the 15-year-old Italian Nicolo Maccagnani, who competed two rounds in the South East Asian F4 earlier this season, taking 3 wins and 3 further podiums. The Ferrari Junior will be taking part in the round with the traditional BVM racing team, and is set to race in the series with PREMA in 2025.
Andres Cortes and Florentin Hattemer will be getting in with Jenzer Motorsport, Oscar Repetto with Cram Motorsport. The recently crowned GB4 champion Ary Bansal will be taking part in the series with US Racing, while Oleksandr Savinkov and Reno Francot are returning to the series with R-ace GP and PHM respectively. Francesco Coppola and Antonio Errigo are returning with Technorace, while Luca Viisoreanu has left the series after the Spanish round.
The Misano World Circuit is a 4.226 km (2.626 mi) race track located next to the town of Misano Adriatico. It counts with 16 corners, 11 to the right and 5 to the left, and with a short straight at the start/finish line, drivers will try most of their overtakes at the hairpin (turn 14) or at the curvone, which is the fast flat-out right-hander.
