MOTOGP TESTING CALENDAR CONFIRMED: ALDEGUER ABSENT AT SEPANG
MotoGP’s pre-season is about to begin, and the full test schedule for the 2026 season is now confirmed.
The Shakedown Test runs from January 29 to 31. After that, the first official test takes place in Sepang, Malaysia, from February 3 to 5. The Season Launch event will be held in Kuala Lumpur on February 7.
The final pre-season test happens at Buriram in Thailand on February 21 and 22, just one week before the opening race, the Thai Grand Prix.
During the season, there will be four test days. Two official tests follow the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez and the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona, using Michelin tyres. Two more non-official tests with the 2027 tyre supplier will take place after the Czech and Austrian Grands Prix.
Meanwhile, BK8 Gresini Racing confirmed that Fermin Aldeguer will miss the Sepang Test due to injury. The Spanish rider broke his left femur in a training crash in early January and had surgery on January 9 in Barcelona.

Because of the serious injury, Aldeguer won’t ride in Malaysia, and it’s still unclear if he will be fit for the Thailand Test. This means Gresini will focus only on Alex Marquez and his work with the new Ducati GP25 in Sepang.
Moto2 and Moto3 test dates are also set. Moto3 will test first at Portimao on February 9 and 10, followed by Moto2 on February 11 and 12. Both classes then move to Jerez, with Moto3 testing on February 14 and 15, and Moto2 on February 16 and 17.
During the season, Moto3 will have a test after the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, and Moto2 will test after the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.
