RAFAEL CÂMARA IS THE FIA FORMULA 3 CHAMPION
The Brazilian Câmara has sealed the Formula 3 championship after a dominant season defeating Nikola Tsolov, Mari Boya and Tim Tramnitz.
Rafael Câmara got pole position on Friday’s qualifying by a small margin over Mari Boya, 0.008s only. His direct rivals, Nikola Tsolov and Tim Tramnitz qualified only P21 and P17 respectively, making the Brazilian’s life much easier on his fight towards the championship title.
The Feature race started under wet conditions, with the formation lap being made behind the Safety car, Formula 3’s main weekend saw a rolling start. Câmara just had to control the pace as overtaking becomes even more difficult at the Hungaroring under rain.

Early Safety Cars saw the retirement of Ugochukwu, Xie and Benavides, as Rafael was being threatened at the lead by Mari Boya who was really close before the yellow flag conditions. Câmara could not let Boya through if he wanted to secure the championship in Hungary, because he could not lose any point at all to him.
Halfway through the race, the track started to dry up, drivers started to make moves at the back of the pack, and even contacts came out of it, Noel Leon spun Hedley round at the penultimate corner and got a 10 second penalty.
Martinius Stenshorne, Bruno del Pino and Ivan Domingues were the only drivers to try to go into the slicks towards the end of the race, but it did not change a lot, since the pace between wet and slick tires was not different.
Rafael Câmara just brought the car home, dominating the Formula 3 Feature race snatching the FIA Formula 3 world title, being the second Brazilian in history to do so after Gabriel Bortoleto.

What does the future look like for Câmara
The Brazilian is set to make the step up to Formula 2 in 2025 with Invicta racing, who signed driver such as Gabriel Bortoleto, who won the F2 championship in 2024, and Leonardo Fornaroli who is currently leading it, both coming from Formula 3 titles.
