SEBASTIAN WHELDON MAKES IT 3 OUT OF 3 AT MISANO
Sebastian Wheldon has won all the three races he took part in this weekend at Misano, ahead of his team mate Kean Nakamura-Berta and Luka Sammalisto in the US Racing.
With two wins in the two races of Saturday, Sebastian Wheldon was gifted pole position for race 4 in the Italian Formula 4 championship.
Sebastian did not start very well as Nakamura-Berta who was starting second took the lead into turn 1, followed by Zhenrui Chi.
Gabriel Gomez had a very good launch off the line but got blocked by Andrea Dupe and almost lost the car by going into the grass, falling down to P9.
Oscar Repetto and Oleksandr Savinkov have crashed after 10 minutes and ended up bringing out the first Safety car of the weekend.
At the restart Gomez managed to overtake Max Popov for the 7th position but immediately got fight back later on.
With 13 minutes to go Sebastian Wheldon attacked Kean Nakamura-Berta to grab the position he lost at the start.
After Zhenrui Chi won the battle for P5 against Andrea Dupe, the French was chased by the Gomez-Popov duo who were flying right behind, and both managed to pass the PREMA, but with an inverted order, as Popov got in front of the US Racing car.
With 9 minutes to go, Dante Vinci and Oleksandr Bondarev made contact at the hairpin and the Australian broke the front wing, while the Williams Junior got a puncture in his left rear tire.
Wheldon opened opened up a great gap to the rest of the field and won the race ahead of Kean Nakamura-Berta and Luka Sammalisto.
