UGO UGOCHUKWU FASTEST IN SECOND DAY OF FORMULA 3 PRE-SEASON TESTING
After a relatively calm first day of testing that saw Freddie Slater finish fastest, the second day of Formula 3 pre-season testing took place this Wednesday, with drivers and teams pushing harder than yesterday and the classification becoming increasingly meaningful ahead of the end of the test.
The morning session saw more drivers on track than yesterday, with teams alternating between long runs and qualifying simulations. Freddie Slater, already fastest on day one, once again stood out by setting the quickest time of the morning.
Behind him, several drivers increased the pace, notably the ART drivers, who all finished inside the top five in the morning session.
In the afternoon, Ugo Ugochukwu proved to be the quickest, setting a 1:28.241 to go top of the day and improve the overall benchmark.
Just behind him, Patrick Heuzenroeder, replacing Ernesto Riveira, secured second place, followed by Théophile Naël, highlighting the strong performance from Campos Racing.
The session also featured one red flag, with the day eventually ending under red flag conditions following an incident involving Enzo Deligny.
With testing set to conclude tomorrow, the gaps observed over the first two days suggest that the fight at the front will be intense throughout the season.
The final day of running will allow everyone to fine-tune their preparation ahead of the championship opener in Melbourne in a few weeks’ time.
A reminder that tomorrow’s PM session start one hour earlier and finish one hour later.
