PEPE MARTI WINS HIS THIRD SPRINT RACE IN FORMULA 2
The Spaniard has won yet another sprint race in the 2025 Formula 2 season after a bad start from Alex Dunne who lost P2 to Arvid Lindblad.
Alexander Dunne has had a very poor start in the F2 sprint race and lost position immediately to Arvid Lindblad, and was almost overtaken by Victor Martins as well. The Red Bull junior Marti got immediately into tire management and did not decide to build a gap, in order to avoid destroying his tires.
The Feature race pole sitter Roman Stanek, who started P10 in the sprint, spun in a contact with Gabriele Mini, and he was given a 10s time penalty. Meanwhile his team mate Leonardo Fornaroli who started P9, gained 2 places on lap 1.
After chasing Arvid Lindblad for some laps, Alex Dunne pulled off a magical divebomb in turn 1 and regained second place in lap 19. It was then confirmed that Arvid Lindblad burnt his tires trying to protect himself from Alexander Dunne, and was rapidly attacked by Crawford and Martins for the last step of the podium.

The Irish was able to catch up Pepe Marti towards the end of the race, while Lindblad tries to defend the podium 5 seconds behind. Safety car came out on lap 22 after Montoya had an issue on the straight and stopped the car. Pepe Marti almost brake tested Dunne after the Safety car came out and the Spaniard is under investigation.
The race restarted with 3 laps to go, and the Red Bull junior fighted as much as he could to keep the lead. On the last lap, Crawford managed to attack Lindblad and take P3 from the British at the exit of turn 1.
A fierce battle on the last lap saw Pepe Marti push Alexander Dunne in the penultimate corner, as the Irish had a big tire and pace advantage. However, Pepe Marti managed to keep the first place and win the Sprint Race at Budapest.
The drivers get back to the track tomorrow at 10:00 AM CET time with Roman Stanek starting from pole.
