MOTOGP ARRIVES AT THE BALATON PARK
MotoGP gets to Hungary for its 14th round of the 2025 season, at the brand new Balaton Park, circuit where only the Superbike has raced at.
The Austrian Grand Prix last week saw Marc Marquez reach a 12-win streak counting sprint races, with his team mate Pecco Bagnaia struggling with pace all weekend long, and an incredible Gresini with Fermin Aldeguer who finished P2. Excellent weekend for Marco Bezzecchi as well who got his first ever pole position with Aprilia.
The Spaniard rider of Ducati has now opened up a gap of 142 points to his brorther Alex in the standings, who is the runner-up so far, and incredible 197 points to his team mate Bagnaia.
The first surprise of the weekend arrived this morning, with the news of Aleix Espargaro, who was set to replace Somkiat Chantra at Honda, got in a bycicle accident during the course of this week, and had to withdraw himself from the event, therefore, there will be no replacements at Honda.
His brother Pol on the other hand, will replace Maverick Viñales, who did not recover in time from his shoulder surgery in Austria, and will have to extend the rest time.
In addition, Pol is the only rider of the grid this weekend who already tested at the Balaton Park, giving the Spaniard a big advantage over the rest of the grid.
What worries the riders on this track, is the wall at the escape road in turn 1. Luca Marini said: “I am a little bit concerned about the wall at turn one, mainly because of what happened with me two months ago.”

The riders will have to pay a lot of attention when opening the lap, especially in Moto3, where we usually see 4-5 wide wheel to wheel racing.
The riders in general would hope for more escape road area in order to avoid serious injuries as we have seen during this season.
While Pecco Bagnaia will try to recover from his anger of the last weekend’s result, there is a whole new track to learn for all of the 70+ riders racing at the Balaton Park this weekend including all the series.
MotoGP gets on track for the FP1 at 10:45 CET Time.
