INTHRAPHUVASAK WINS LAST RACE OF THE SEASON AS CAMPOS CLINCHES FORMULA 3 TEAM’S TITLE WITH A 1-2

Campos Racing has clinched the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Teams’ championship with a 1-2 finish at Monza, having the Thai Inthraphuvasak on the top step of the podium.

Brad Benavides started well from pole position holding Ugo Ugochukwu behind as Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak overtook Noel Leon for the third position on lap 1. Both Tramnitz and Gerrard Xie have made contact at the beginning of the race, the Red Bull Junior survived with a broken front wing, while Xie had to retire.

Charlie Wurz has crashed at the exit of the Lesmo I corner and early retired from the race as well, which meant that the Safety Car would come out to for the first time in the race.

The restart on lap two saw Brad Benavides cut turn 5, gaining advantage due to defending the position to the Mclaren Junior Ugochukwu behind. Brad was told by his engineer to give the position to Ugo to avoid a penalty.

In the meanwhile, Fefo Barrichello caught the dirt at the Ascari chicane and retired from the race, due to getting beached at the exit of the penultimate corner. A second safety car would come out in the space of four laps.

On the first lap back to green flag, Ugochukwu ended up going over the gravel that was spread all over the track at Ascari as well, and he got beached on the same way as Barrichello, meaning the race was early over for a strong contender in the PREMA.

The Safety car leaves the track on lap 10, Benavides still leads the field, Nikita Johnson spun out in turn 4 but gladly got the car running, so the race stood under green flag conditions.

Tuukka Taponen and Matias Zagazeta were going wheel to wheel in the Ascari chicane, but Zagazeta went wide and ended up losing the front wing and damaging the floor due to the bumps in the gravel trap. A disaster for the boy from Peru, who was a strong contender for the podium.

Before retiring from the race at the Parabolica, he got back to track in an unsafe way, blocking drivers such as Domingues, Tramnitz and Van Hoepen. The three of them have made contact into turn 1 on the lap later, which caused the retirement only for Ivan due to having unrepairable damages. Tramnitz got out of the accident safely, while Van Hoepen had to pit and get back to the track.

On lap 11, the safety car returned to the pits, and two laps were needed for Tsolov to attack Benavides, and have one of the two Campos in the podium places leading the race. The tactic was simple: Have both Tsolov and Inthraphuvasak overtaking the AIX in order to secure the teams’ title and rip off the 16-point gap there was from Trident in the standings.

Brad Benavides however, attacked back and got the P1 again from Nikola Tsolov. It did not take long for his team mate Inthraphuvasak to overtake him as well, the order at Campos got reversed.

Within lap 16, Camara was P6 having started P30. A mega charge through the field saw the Brazilian make up 24 places in three quarters of the race distance.

Lap 17 saw Inthraphuvasak dive down the inside of Benavides to take P1 away from the American, who lost momentum during the lap and dropped to third with Tsolov overtaking him too. Camara ended up making it into P5 overtaking Bilinski on lap 19.
