FREC 2026: FIA CONFIRMS LIST OF PARTICIPATING TEAMS

Two exits, two entries

On Thursday (Oct 2nd), the FIA confirmed the list of teams that will take part in the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) in 2026. Ten teams have been confirmed, with two notable changes from the 2025 season.

MP Motorsport and Rodin Motorsport are new to the discipline, replacing Saintéloc Racing and Akcel GP, which are withdrawing from the championship. All other teams have been confirmed and will continue in 2026.

Their arrival comes as no surprise, as both teams are already well established in the feeder series, and up to Formula 2. Their entry should help increase the level of competition and offer more opportunities for young drivers.

Confirmed teams

The FIA has also confirmed the renewal of eight teams already present this season. The 2026 FREC field will therefore consist of these 10 teams:

A stronger grid than ever

With the arrival of MP Motorsport and Rodin Motorsport, the FREC confirms its status as an essential step on the ladder to Formula 1.

Prema, ART and R-ace GP remain the reference teams, but the arrival of new top-level teams promises a challenging championship where every point will count. The 2026 season is therefore shaping up to be a closely fought contest.
