F1 ACADEMY – SINGAPORE RACE 2: MAYA WEUG TRIUMPHS IN THE RAIN, THE TITLE WILL BE DECIDED IN LAS VEGAS!

The second race of the F1 Academy weekend in Singapore delivered another dramatic twist. On a tricky circuit once again — this time marked by the arrival of rain — Maya Weug emerged victorious after a thrilling contest, finishing ahead of Doriane Pin and Ella Lloyd. The title fight remains wide open: everything will be decided in the season finale in Las Vegas.

Pin takes the lead, Block makes a mistake

Doriane Pin got off to a perfect start, seizing the lead into the first corner ahead of Maya Weug. Behind them, Saturday’s winner Lia Block endured a nightmare start to her race — running wide on lap two, the American went straight on and dropped to the back of the field.

Rain shakes up the race

The first drops began to fall on lap five, making the circuit extremely slippery. Conditions worsened rapidly when heavy rain arrived on lap nine. Several drivers opted for a bold strategy, switching to wet tyres — among them Lia Block and Chloé Chambers — but the gamble didn’t pay off.

Safety Car and a decisive final lap

Nicole Havrda was forced to retire, bringing out the Safety Car on lap eleven. At the restart, for a one-lap shootout, Maya Weug pulled off a brilliant overtake on Doriane Pin, taking advantage of the low grip to move into the lead. The Dutch driver held firm to take victory, while those on wet tyres were unable to make up ground or capitalize on their tyre choice.

The title to be decided in Las Vegas

With this win, Maya Weug closes the gap to Doriane Pin in the standings. The two drivers will head to Las Vegas for the season finale separated by just a few points — ready to battle it out under the bright lights of the American strip for the F1 Academy crown.
