PIRELLI’S C6 TYRE TO NOT BE USED IN 2026 RACES

Pirelli will drop its C6 tyre for the 2026 F1 season after drivers criticized it for offering almost no performance advantage over the C5.

Introduced in 2025 and used at tracks like Imola, Monaco, and Baku, the C6 failed to deliver the intended pace gap that would boost strategy variation.

With 2026 cars not yet available for testing, Pirelli will instead finalize five new slick compounds using simulation data, aiming to better match the upcoming regulations and maintain competitive racing.

Pirelli will therefore bring to the 2026 races’ tyre allocations the C1, being the hardest, to the C5 being the softest.
