LAMBIASE RECEIVES TWO OFFERS TO LEAVE RED BULL
The British-Italian engineer Gianpiero Lambiase has received two proposals to leave Red Bull and join another team for the 2026 season.
The week after the 2025 finale at Abu Dhabi, Racingnews365.com had reported that the notorious race engineer that worked for Max Verstappen for a significant number of seasons, would stay for the next year as well.
However, Lambiase is still fighting against a painful situation in his personal life. His wife Eloisa, has got a serious illness which needs to be carefully treated, and the 45-year-old was forced to miss two races this year.
Reports inside the paddock tell us that GP is not willing to travel to the races and work from the factory in 2026, hence why a team change might happen soon.
Offers have arrived from other teams

Aston Martin has proposed Lambiase a more centralised role inside the team, could either be the one of CEO, or Team Principal as per Motorsport.com Italy, since Newey will still guide the technical part of the team, but not the commercial side.
With the British-Italian engineer joining Aston Martin, we could see him reuniting with Adrian Newey to work together as it was in Red Bull. Others also see the possibility of Verstappen following Newey himself in Aston Martin for 2027 in case of unhappiness in Red Bull, which means that Lambiase would not separate from them.
Williams has also offered a contract to try to hire Gianpiero in 2026. Although there are less reports on this story, we know that James Vowles has been indeed in talks with Lambiase for a senior position inside the team, but no advanced negotiations have been revealed so far.
This would allow Lambiase to work from the factory and stay close to his family in the United Kingdom, which is what he wants for the near future, in order to take care of his wife in such a difficult moment.
It is now very unlikely that Verstappen will have the same race engineer in 2026, opposite to what reported two weeks ago.
