FRMET – ABU DHABI: CHRISTIAN HO WINS EVENTFUL RACE 2
The second race of the Formula Regional Middle East in Abu Dhabi was marked by numerous incidents from the very start.
A major accident occurred at the start when Reza Seewooruthun, who was starting from second position, stalled on the grid. Michael Belov was unable to avoid him and collided with him, triggering a red flag. The race was eventually restarted with a rolling start half an hour later.
Andrija Kostic, who got into first place, got a drive through penalty for a technical infringment, and lost P1, who was given the the hands of Miguel Costa. However, the Brazilian failed to keep Christian Ho behind and got demoted to P2.
The race continued to see several incidents. Alex Powell spun at the final chicane following contact with Kean Nakamura Berta, while Przyrowski sent Severiukhin into a spin just one corner later. Further down the field, Taito Kato was forced to retire after an intense battle with Miguel Costa.
At the front, Christian Ho took the victory, ahead of Miguel Costa in second and Alex Ninovic in third.
