WILLIAMS TO MISS PRE SEASON TESTING AT BARCELONA

Williams is set to miss the first week of tests in Barcelona, which will take place behind closed doors.

The team had difficulties with the FIA Crash Test according to informations in the paddock, causing a possible crash to put the driver’s safety under risk. Therefore, the decision to be made is to skip the pre-season in Barcelona.

It is not the first time that the team skips official pre-season session. In 2019, due to technical issues as well, Williams had to miss important days of testing at Barcelona.

Matt Harman, currently the technical director at Williams, previously held the same position at Alpine during the 2023 and 2024 Formula 1 seasons. During his time at Alpine, the team encountered significant difficulties related to FIA crash tests, an issue that affected car development and delayed progress.
