ANTÓNIO FÉLIX DA COSTA SHOWS HIS MASTERY TO WIN RACE 2 IN JEDDAH
The Portuguese driver claimed his 13th Formula E victory after an intense race under the lights in Jeddah.
Jeddah once again delivered the chaos and close wheel-to-wheel action that defines Formula E. But no amount of unpredictability was enough to stop António Félix da Costa on his path to victory.
This time, the race followed the standard format, no Pit Boost, and two mandatory Attack Mode activations.
Edo Mortara secured pole position once again, completing a perfect qualifying weekend with both poles, his fifth career pole in Formula E. Jake Dennis lined up alongside him in second, with Da Costa starting third.
Unlike the previous day, Mortara made a clean start, holding the lead ahead of Dennis and Da Costa, who were immediately locked in a fierce battle during the opening laps.
Oliver Rowland delivered a sensational Lap 1 performance. Starting fourth, the reigning champion overtook three cars to lead the race by the end of the lap. Meanwhile, Pepe Martí was one of the standout performers at the start. The Spaniard climbed from P14 to break into the top 10 within a single lap.
The first third of the race was pure madness. Sébastien Buemi joined the fight for victory with impressive pace, even taking the lead at certain moments. The Swiss driver continued to make bold moves, battling Rowland and Da Costa for the win well into the final phase of the race.
Lucas Di Grassi shines, but Lola cannot keep up
Lucas Di Grassi produced one of the most remarkable recovery drives of the race after starting from the back of the grid.
On Lap 9, he activated his first Attack Mode and made masterful use of the extra power, overtaking ten cars and climbing into the top five. However, once the boost expired, his car lacked the pace to maintain that position. He gradually fell down the order and ultimately finished P15.
Mixed feelings for Porsche
It was a complicated race for Porsche. The German manufacturer struggled for consistent pace, with only half of its cars scoring points. Pascal Wehrlein finished P8 for the factory team, while the Cupra Kiro drivers Dan Ticktum and Pepe Martí secured solid P5 and P6 finishes, respectively.
Da Costa dominates at the end

Da Costa’s start to Season 12 had been plagued by bad luck. He was hit by Martí in São Paulo, costing him a podium chance, and later by Drugovich in Miami while running in P3.
This time, however, fortune played no role. After taking the lead on Lap 20, the Portuguese driver never looked back. He controlled the race to the finish, winning by 2.5 seconds, the third-largest winning margin of the season.
No one could challenge him in the closing stages as he secured his 13th career victory and his first win since Portland 2024.
Under the bright lights of Jeddah, António Félix da Costa reminded everyone exactly why he remains one of Formula E’s most formidable racers.
