FIA F3 – UGO UGOCHUKWU DOMINATES FIRST FEATURE OF THE YEAR

The Formula 3 Feature Race in Melbourne delivered an eventful race with plenty of battles throughout the field. After a race that ultimately finished under the Safety Car, Ugo Ugochukwu claimed victory ahead of Freddie Slater and Taito Kato.

The start is relatively calm, but Freddie Slater makes a very strong launch and manages to take second place, slotting in between the two Campos cars.

However, on lap two Ugo Ugochukwu retakes the position from Freddie Slater. The American continues his charge and a few laps later overtakes Théophile Naël to take the lead of the race, pulling away without ever really being challenged.

Around mid-race, the Safety Car is deployed after Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi crashes and ends his race in the wall.

After the restart, the race becomes particularly lively in the midfield with numerous battles for position. Several drivers also receive penalties related to the start, which shakes up the order.

The race becomes more difficult for Mattia Colnaghi, who loses several positions over the course of the race and drops down the standings.

In the closing laps, another incident occurs when Shin crashes, bringing out the Safety Car once again. The race ultimately finishes under neutralisation.

Ugo Ugochukwu therefore crosses the line in first place to secure victory in the first Feature Race of the season. Freddie Slater finishes second after a strong performance, while Taito Kato completes the podium.

Among the standout performances of the weekend, Enzo Deligny enjoys an excellent first weekend in the category. After finishing second in the Sprint Race, the French driver comes home sixth in the Feature Race, confirming a very promising start to his season.
