DRIVERS REPORT BATTERY ISSUES AT THE RACE START

A strange situation happened at the start of today’s race, as many drivers reported a lack of battery power while waiting for the lights to go out on the grid.

Several drivers said their cars had almost no battery energy after the formation lap, which affected their launch when the race started.

George Russell and Kimi Antonelli both said they had “zero percent battery” while starting from P1 and P2. The two Mercedes drivers explained that they did not know why the battery level was so low at the start.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc also spoke about the problem after the race. He said he talked with other drivers who experienced the same issue.

According to Leclerc, his car had a little more battery power than some of the others, but it was still not enough for an ideal start.

Max Verstappen also reported the issue on the radio just before the race began. He told his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, that his battery level was very low while waiting on the grid.

The problem created a dangerous moment for Liam Lawson. The VCARB driver had almost no power for a few seconds after the lights went out, which caused him to slow down unexpectedly. Franco Colapinto had to quickly avoid Lawson, missing his car by only a few millimeters.

The unusual situation affected several teams and drivers. It is likely that teams and the FIA will study the issue carefully before the next races to understand what caused the sudden loss of battery power.
