PIASTRI YET TO COMPLETE A RACE LAP IN 2026

Oscar Piastri has had a very difficult start to the 2026 Formula 1 season, as the McLaren driver has not completed a single race lap after the first two rounds of the championship.

The Australian recorded a Did Not Start (DNS) in both the Australian Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix. In the latter event, problems with the car prevented him from even reaching the formation lap, meaning he was unable to take part in the race.

While in Australia, the home hero crashed on his way to the grid with cold tires. Because of these issues, Piastri has not driven a single lap during a Grand Prix so far this season.

This situation leaves the McLaren driver at the bottom of the drivers’ championship standings after the first two races of the year.

It is a frustrating start for Piastri and the McLaren team, who will hope to solve the problems quickly so the Australian can finally begin his 2026 season and start scoring points in the upcoming races.
