MOTOGP RESCHEDULES SEVERAL RACES AMID MIDDLE EAST CONFLICTS
MotoGP has confirmed a series of changes to its race calendar following escalating tensions in the Middle East. The most significant change affects the Qatar Grand Prix, which has been moved from its original slot of April 10–12 to November 8–10.
MotoGP organizers opted to postpone the race in the hope that the geopolitical situation in the region will stabilize later in the year. The decision contrasts with the approach sometimes taken by other major motorsport series, which have occasionally cancelled events in the region during periods of conflict.
The rescheduling of the Qatar round has triggered further adjustments across the calendar. The Portuguese Grand Prix will now take place on the weekend beginning November 20, while the traditional season finale at Valencia has been pushed back by one week to November 29.
These changes also create a notable gap in the early part of the season. After the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin on March 29, the championship will pause for four weeks before racing resumes at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez on April 26.
MotoGP officials stated that the revised schedule was designed to minimize disruption to teams and fans while maintaining the full championship calendar. Further updates could still occur depending on developments in the region.
