FORMULA E RETURNS TO BERLIN FOR A DOUBLE ROUND AT TEMPELHOF
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns after a one-month break following the Madrid E-Prix. Now, all eyes turn to Berlin, as the championship heads back to the iconic Tempelhof Airport for Rounds 7 and 8.
A CLOSE FIGHT IN THE TEAMS’ STANDINGS
Two teams have emerged as the strongest contenders for the Teams’ Championship. Porsche Formula E Team leads Jaguar TCS Racing by a narrow margin of just four points (133 vs 129). However, the British outfit has been building strong momentum in recent rounds.
António Félix da Costa has secured victories in the last two races, while Mitch Evans has claimed two podium finishes since his win in Miami during Round 3. The question now is whether Jaguar’s duo can continue this form and overtake the German powerhouse in the standings.
MITCH EVANS TO LEAVE JAGUAR
Mitch Evans has announced that he will leave Jaguar after a decade with the team. The New Zealander debuted with them at the 2016 Hong Kong E-Prix and played a key role in shaping their success, earning their first points, first podium, and first victory, achieved in Rome in 2019.
Together, they secured a Teams’ World Championship, while Evans finished as runner-up in the Drivers’ Championship twice. Their partnership stands as the longest in Formula E history, but both parties will now move forward on separate paths.
LUCAS DI GRASSI ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Lucas di Grassi, one of the foundational figures in Formula E, has announced that 2026 will be his final season as a professional driver.
After competing in Formula One in 2010, di Grassi found his true success in Formula E, becoming one of the series’ most iconic drivers. He played an active role in the creation of the championship alongside the FIA and claimed the Drivers’ title in the 2016/17 season.
With 13 career wins, his most recent victory came at the 2022 London E-Prix (Race 2), while his last podium finish was in Miami in 2025. Following his retirement, he will continue working with the team to help develop their GEN4 car.
TEMPELHOF: A UNIQUE AND CHALLENGING CIRCUIT
Tempelhof Airport has hosted the Berlin E-Prix since the inaugural Formula E season and remains one of the most distinctive venues on the calendar.
The 2.3 km layout features 15 turns and is known for its abrasive surface, low grip levels, and heavy braking zones. These characteristics consistently create intense racing and numerous overtaking opportunities, making it a true test for drivers and teams alike.
As Formula E returns to this historic airfield, the stage is set for another thrilling chapter in an already tightly contested championship.
