VERSTAPPEN RECEIVES 5-SECOND PENALTY AFTER MIAMI GRAND PRIX

Max Verstappen has been given a five-second time penalty following the Miami Grand Prix for a rule violation during the race. The Red Bull driver crossed the white line at the pit exit on lap 7 after making his stop, which is not allowed under FIA regulations when the line is solid.

This rule is strictly enforced because crossing that line can be dangerous, especially when cars are rejoining the track at speed. As a result, penalties are consistently applied in these situations.

Despite the penalty, Verstappen’s final position remains unchanged. He originally finished fifth, and even after the five seconds were added to his race time, the gap to the cars behind was large enough for him to keep P5.
