LONGEST LIVING F1 DRIVER PASSES AWAY AT 100

Hermano da Silva Ramos, the oldest living former Formula 1 driver and the third Brazilian to compete in the championship, has passed away at the age of 100.

Born in Brazil in 1925, Ramos competed in Formula 1 during the 1950s, representing an important early chapter of Brazilian involvement in international motorsport. He raced in several Grand Prix events during the early years of the world championship and became part of the generation that helped open the doors for future Brazilian drivers in Formula 1.

Although his Formula 1 career was relatively short, Hermano da Silva Ramos remained a respected figure in motorsport history. His contribution came long before Brazil became one of the sport’s most successful nations through drivers such as Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, and Ayrton Senna.

With his passing, Formula 1 loses one of the final surviving representatives of the championship’s earliest era. Fans and members of the motorsport community have already begun paying tribute to the Brazilian driver and his place in racing history.

Rest in peace, Hermano da Silva Ramos.
