ROWLAND WINS DRAMATIC MONACO RACE AFTER LATE CHARGE

Oliver Rowland produced a brilliant drive to win Round 10 of the 2025/26 Formula E season in Monaco. The Nissan driver started eighth, stayed calm through the chaos and used his energy and ATTACK MODE at the right moments.

Dan Ticktum started from pole for the second race in a row, with António Félix da Costa alongside him. Ticktum led into Turn 1, but da Costa’s race changed quickly after contact with Edoardo Mortara sent him spinning down to 15th on Lap 1. Mortara continued near the front, but later received a 10-second penalty.

By Lap 2, Mortara had passed Ticktum for the lead, with Jean-Éric Vergne also moving forward. The race then became a close fight between strategy, energy saving and ATTACK MODE timing. Nico Müller, Mitch Evans and Felipe Drugovich all had spells near the front as the order kept changing.

Ticktum waited until Lap 15 to take his first ATTACK MODE and fought back through the pack, but the race became even more dramatic when Pepe Martí and Nick Cassidy collided at Rascasse on Lap 19, bringing out a Full Course Yellow.

Da Costa recovered well from his early spin and briefly led the race under ATTACK MODE. But on Lap 23, Rowland made his move. After Mortara and Rowland passed da Costa, Rowland took the lead at the Nouvelle Chicane and quickly looked in control.

A late Full Course Yellow came after Taylor Barnard crashed at Portier, but Rowland stayed calm and crossed the line first. It was his second Monaco win in two years and another strong result for Nissan.

Mortara finished second on track, but his penalty dropped him to fifth. That promoted Felipe Drugovich to second, giving the Brazilian his best Formula E result so far. Da Costa completed the podium in third after a strong recovery drive.

Mitch Evans finished fourth and left Monaco still leading the Drivers’ Championship, ahead of Rowland. Jaguar also stayed ahead of Porsche in the Teams’ Championship, while Porsche continued to lead the Manufacturers’ standings.

Formula E now heads to Sanya for Round 11 on 20 June, returning to the Chinese venue after a seven-season break.
