2027 WEC CALENDAR IS REVEALED WITH SILVERSTONE RETURN
The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will expand to nine rounds in 2027, marking the first time in a decade that the series has featured such a large calendar. The new season reflects the continued growth of the championship, which is seeing record manufacturer involvement and rising global popularity.
The 2027 season will begin with the official Prologue test at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, followed shortly after by the opening race, the Qatar 1812km. This event will once again feature racing from daylight into night, setting the tone for the endurance-focused year ahead.
After the opening round, the championship will move into a busy European phase. This includes the 6 Hours of Imola at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Italy, followed by the return of the 6 Hours of Silverstone at Silverstone Circuit, which re-enters the calendar after an 8-year absence. The European leg continues with the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, before the season’s highlight event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans at 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The second half of the season will include four flyaway races across different continents. Teams will race at Interlagos in Brazil, the Circuit of the Americas in the United States, Fuji Speedway in Japan, and Bahrain International Circuit in the Middle East. These venues bring very different challenges, from high-speed layouts to demanding tyre wear and changing weather conditions.
The championship will conclude in Bahrain in early November, where the titles are expected to be decided. The final round will once again take place at Bahrain International Circuit, which has often hosted season finales in recent years.
FIA officials and championship leaders highlighted the growth of the series, pointing to increasing manufacturer involvement and stronger fan interest. The grid is expected to include major automotive brands, with continued expansion in the Hypercar category, reinforcing the championship’s status as the top level of endurance racing.
