RED BULL IS UNHAPPY WITH FIRST ADUO FIGURES

Tensions are rising in the Formula 1 paddock after reports that Red Bull has strongly objected to the FIA’s initial ADUO assessment process, leading to a delay in the release of the latest performance figures.

According to paddock sources, the controversy began when it emerged that the FIA had been evaluating performance using only the internal combustion engine rather than the full power unit package, which also includes hybrid elements. Red Bull reportedly challenged this approach, arguing that it does not reflect the true competitive balance between manufacturers, as Mercedes would receive help from this system.

Following the team’s objection, the previously prepared figures were not released, and the FIA is now expected to re-examine the methodology before publishing any updated results.

The situation has created uncertainty among teams, as the ADUO evaluation is considered an important reference point for understanding relative engine performance across the grid. Any changes to the calculation method could potentially alter expectations for competitiveness under future regulations.

Ferrari is also said to be closely monitoring developments after expressing concerns of its own in recent discussions. Reports suggest that the Italian team believes its engine performance sits between 6% and 8% behind the benchmark unit, raising questions about how the revised assessment could affect its position in the revised framework.
