DIOGO MOREIRA TAKES THE MOTO2 TITLE AND SHOWS HIS CREDENTIALS FOR 2026

Diogo Moreira is the new Moto2 World Champion, and he achieved it in a very calm and consistent way this Sunday.

Diogo started P9 in the Valencian Community GP, while his rival Manuel González was P5 at the green flag.
Not needing a high finishing position to secure the championship, Diogo controlled the pace throughout the laps and kept his cool even when Celestino Vietti tried to take his position.

On González’s side, he was very aggressive throughout the race, trying to gain positions as he needed to win. But at some point he lost control of his momentum, dropping down the order to P8, right in front of Diogo.

On lap 17, Diogo overtook González for P8, and the Spaniard pitted on the same lap due to issues with his bike.
González returned to the track on lap 19, but it no longer mattered, Diogo was already the champion.
Ahead of him, Izan Guevara won his first Moto2 race.

Diogo crossed the line in P11 to become the first Brazilian champion in any MotoGP class.

He finishes his Moto2 campaign with 4 race wins, 9 podiums, and 286 points.

Next stop: MotoGP 2026 with LCR Honda.

Can the Brazilian replicate his Moto2 success in the premier class?
